Intended Use
The Cytokeratin (Broad Spectrum) Antibody is designed as an adjunctive diagnostic tool in pathology, with applications including:
1. Differential Diagnosis of Epithelial Tumours
Serves as a first-line screening marker for evaluating neoplasms of unknown origin and determining a cell's epithelial lineage
Distinguishes epithelial tumours from non-epithelial tumours-
2. Diagnosis of Carcinomas
Squamous cell carcinoma (including spindle cell variant)
Adenocarcinomas (including adrenocortical carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and various other adenocarcinomas)
Transitional cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, carcinoid tumours
Hepatocellular carcinoma (this antibody is frequently negative in hepatocellular carcinoma)
3. Other Tumours
Malignant mesothelioma (including sarcomatoid components)
Germ cell tumours (excluding seminoma)
Pleomorphic adenoma (epithelial component), thymoma
Chordoma
Synovial sarcoma and epithelioid sarcoma
4. Metastatic Tumour Detection
Detecting micro-metastatic tumours in lymph nodes
Detecting metastatic tumour cells in bone marrow specimens.
